"Leaders Giving Back"

The Campaign to Renovate Tower Park for the Next Generation

Dear Friend,

You are invited to join an extraordinary list of notable athletes and community leaders who have come together to help renovate Tower Park for a next generation of kids, families and adults. So far, we have raised $550,000 in donations, in-kind support, and public matching donations towards the $700,000 project. It will involve renovating the hard surface court into a state of the art playing surface that will replicate the Purdue University Mackey Arena floor and Valparaiso High School's gymnasium floor. Additionally, we will add two half courts for younger players and an overlay outlining a court for pickleball.

Next to the courts, Tower Park baseball field that has served our kids for over 40 years will be renovated to a state of the art baseball/softball multipurpose, all-weather turf field that will also accommodate Challenge League play for individuals with disabilities, with a lead gift from Jeff Samardzija and the Samardzija Family.

Our goal is to complete the hard surface Purdue, VHS and half courts/pickleball court thisSummer and the Samardzija Field would be completed by Fall 2017.

Additional partners and donors are invited to connect to this project, just as they did with ValPLAYso, through donation levels of $1000, $2500 or $5000 which will be recognized on a new arched donor gateway at Tower Park (see attached drawing). Those who wish to give at the $10,000 level or more will be acknowledged with customized recognition on site. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to complete our fundraising by Fall 2017.

We appreciate all that you have done and continue to do in Valparaiso and the surrounding community. Thank you for your consideration of this next opportunity. We invite you to contact us, or the Valpo Parks Foundation through John Seibert (jseibert@valpo.us), Lisa Kusbel (lkusbel@valpo.us), or Helene Pierce (hpierce@valpo.us) through email or by calling Valpo Parks at 219-462-5144.

Sincerely,
