Memorial History
In the fall of 2000, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Chequeuk Lodge 56, Valparaiso (IOOF) approached the Valparaiso Parks Foundation about funding and creating a Service Memorial on park property.
IOOF members and the Foundation worked together on the design and creation of the Service Memorial at Veterans and Volunteers Plaza.
Dedicated on Memorial Day 2003, the monument is located in front of the park offices at Foundation Meadows Park. The Service Memorial features landscaping, a gazebo, and an interactive fountain. The focal point of the plaza is four granite monuments where personalized bricks pay tribute to friends, family, and community members.
Commemorative Bricks
Honor military veterans, volunteers, friends, and those who have ensured our public safety with your contribution.
Service Memorial bricks have space for 39 letters, engraved with your customized message to honor a loved one, recognize a good friend, celebrate an anniversary, or show your support for this important place in our community.
Participation & Payments
To participate, complete and submit the form shown and send or deliver a check of $85 for each brick ordered to the Valpo Parks Foundation at the address below.

ValPAWraiso Dog Park Memorial Bricks
Pets of all kinds can be memorialized with bricks at the ValPAWraiso Dog Park Entrance. We often receive requests to commemorate pet owners and animal lovers as well, so please feel free to submit these for review.
All bricks will be prominently placed. We are sorry we cannot accommodate special requests for placement or brick color.
